	Why Central NY? According to the InterFaith Works of CNY, refugees have little to no choice on where they get to relocate. They go through great obstacles just to be able to get to the United States. It is our federal legislature that dictates how many and where refugees are allowed to resettle each year.
	Facts & Figures The average refugee spends 17 years in a refugee camp awaiting resettlement. As of 2009, the majority of the refugees that entered the United States came from Burma, Bhutan, Somalia and Iraq.

Our first issue is The Refugee Impact. Our area is rich with diversity and blended cultures. This diverse culture is largely due to the unique and growing refugee population. Over the next few months, this website will provide Central New York with facts, resources, and true stories of real individual survival.
